Miranda is an associate of SHM&R, currently practicing in the general civil litigation division, primarily in the areas of Defense of Motor Carriers, Insurance Defense, Premises Liability, and Professional Liability.

Miranda received her bachelor’s degree with honors from Louisiana State University with a double major in Political Science and Public Discourse. She then moved to Washington, D.C., where she aided ranking members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives before joining a leading insurance trade association and PAC fund as a Junior Lobbyist. Determined to explore how the policies she was affecting were practiced at the ground level, Miranda returned to Louisiana where she obtained her J.D. from Tulane University Law School. There, she served as a Rule XX Student Attorney in the Tulane Criminal Justice Clinic, representing incarcerated persons in their post-conviction relief petitions. Additionally, she was a three-year competing member of the Tulane Mock Trial Team, Student Attorney for the Tulane University Legal Assistance Program (“TULAP”), and law clerk for the civil litigation division of the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.

After graduation, Miranda served as an Assistant District Public Defender at the Caddo Parish Public Defender’s Office and then at the Orleans Public Defenders office, where she spent several years cultivating extensive litigation experience, having represented hundreds of individuals facing, both, felony and misdemeanor charges in the Orleans Parish criminal justice system. She then went on to a prominent insurance defense firm, where she honed her skills in the areas of first-party property claims, primarily Hurricane Ida litigation, and third-party claims, including premises liability and motor carrier defense.

She is admitted to practice before all Louisiana State and Federal Courts, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She is a member of the Louisiana, New Orleans, and Federal Bar Associations, as well as a member of the Louisiana Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division.
